For Practitioners
We’re here for you too.
At Catalyst Surgical, we believe that health care is team care. And while we don’t all work in the same clinic, that’s not a reason to have better channels of communication. Through our collaboration with Sherbourne Health, we have piloted a model of collaborative care with our clients’ practitioners unlike other typical specialist/practitioner relationships.
We don’t have the luxury of large, centralized, multi-disciplinary teams in this field. So we create many de-centralized teams around each of our patients. When you refer a patient to us, you’re also referring yourself. We reach out to your office to establish direct lines of communication so that our shared patients enjoy the benefits of team care.
It’s refreshing to be able to discuss with Dr. Chung cases with challenging recovery needs or system navigation! Communication with him and his team is always quick and transparent, so I don’t need to worry about patients falling through the cracks. – Ian Armstrong, Family Physician
Practitioner Support for Gender Affirming Surgical Care
Dr. Chung provides physician support for practitioners who manage gender diverse clients in pre-, peri- and post-operative phases who will or have had surgery outside of Toronto (GTA) and the surrounding area. This usually takes the form of peer-support but may ultimately involve seeing the client if necessary. Dr. Chung does not perform assessments for pre-surgical OHIP approval. Please contact our office by phone or email (info@catalystsurgical.ca) if this is a service you feel would be helpful for you.
“I have been in practice for 13 years and I have never had a surgeon who is so willing to give of his time and knowledge. Dr. Chung is extremely approachable and I have learnt so much from him already!” — Dr. Ahailya Bisessar, Family Physician
